Southbound is downright country

Updated: Feb 29, 2020

There are two kinds of country music out there today. There is Mainstream Country, Cowboy country-pop that has brought a whole new generation in to love country music. And then there is Country Music. If you love country music, I mean GOOD country music, then you do not want to miss Southbound perform at Chili Bourbon & Beer Festival on Saturday, February 29th in Downtown Chandler. There will actually be incredible local country music all day 12:00PM-9:00PM. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and all your friends!

Justin Hitson is the real deal! Moving to Prescott, AZ from Colorado as a young man, he was lucky enough to marry his high school sweetheart 23 years ago. As a proud father of two beautiful daughters, his oldest can be found sharing the mic with her Daddy at one of their favorite honky tonks, the Windsock Lounge. Justin also performs frequently at the historic favorite, Matt's Saloon if you ever get yourself up north.

My personal fav is watching Justin inside the Lion's Den Bar & Grill in Pinetop or watching the crowds holler when Southbound opens for Roger Klein & the Peacemakers. People LOVE these guys and so will you.

And you want to talk about getting live and super close to your fans?! You'll find Justin right smack in the middle of the biggest and funnest compound at Country Thunder in Florence, AZ. Of course why wouldn't he be with some of the greatest cowboys this city girl knows?!

Southbound is releasing their new songs a few at a time while they wrap up the entire album due for completion later this year. Their first song, Pass Me The Bottle is already a local hit, I Pray was released earlier this week. Their next release will be a song written Justin as a tribute to his dear friend Roger Klein, 'Crazy Tonight'. Watch for the release and all these other songs wherever you can download music (Pandora, Google Music, Spotify, ITunes, etc.).

Chandler was truly blessed when he and his full band with Tommy Corbin on drums, Greg Ahmann on lead guitar and Jeff Leece on bass, started playing locally. I do have to say that Justin looks just a tad intimidating. But on the contrary, he is one of the nicest most genuine country boys you will ever have the pleasure to meet. There is always a hug waiting for you and a smile to be shared. He truly loves his fans and his fans are die-hard committed followers! Stay up to date on where you can catch them at AZSouthbound.com.

Join the fun people every Sunday at Good Time Charli's in west Chandler on Sunday's 1:00PM-4:00PM, just get there early to grab a spot on the patio. GTC has live music 7 days/nights a week and in my opinion, the very best that the local live music scene has to offer. Oh, and the food...definitely worth checking it out for yourself. Seriously!
